SMALL SATELLITE PROGRAM
  Center for Advanced Satellite Manufacturing

What is CASM?

The Center for Advance Satellite Manufacturing (CASM) is developing and will commercialize state-of-the-art methods and technologies for manufacturing satellites more efficiently and cost effectively. Three patents are in process in this area which will give CASM unique intellectual property to develop a variety of opportunities with its partners and for its customers.

CASM is applying advanced design and manufacturing techniques to enable small satellites to become a disruptive technology in the spacecraft market. From 2001-2007, $770 Billion is anticipated to be spent globally on space exploration and space related business. Even a small penetration into this immense market results in forecasts of $2-$22M business at the end of the Center of Excellence development. Casm's current strategy is to focus on the Department of Defense's emerging need for small, responsive satellites working with strategic partners. Already, key partnerships have been established and CASM is currently serving key segments of the Department of Defense as shown by its partners and customers below.
